Feeding

It is very important that puppies are fed a good quality, balanced, complete diet 4 times a day. Evolution Animal Care recommends Hills Science Plan for its high nutritional content.

Neutering

Evolution strongly recommend that your dog is speyed or castrated at 5-6 months of age.  This should help prevent:

  • Unwanted pregnancy
  • Mammary tumours
  • Roaming
  • Dominance issues

Dental care

Regular brushing is recommended from an early age.  This will help prevent gum disease, plaque build up, and bad breath.  Feeding good quality dried food will also help to prevent dental problems.

Fleas & Ticks

Frontline Combo Spot On if used every 2 months from 10 weeks of age will prevent infestations on your pet and in your home.

Microchipping

It is a legal requirement for a dog, when in a public place, to wear a collar with a tag bearing the details of its owner.  Microchipping is a permanent way of identifying your pet which cannot be removed.

All vets, police stations, dog homes and rescue centres will routinely scan stray animals and hopefully reunite them with their owners.

Wormng

Puppies should be wormed regularly:

  • Every 2 weeks till 12 weeks
  • Every month until 6 months
  • 3 monthly thereafter
We promote the use of Milbemax or Panacur which will treat round and tapeworms.

Insurance

It is always wise to consider pet insurance in case of future illness or accidents. We have an FSA recognised advisor who will gladly discuss your policy needs. 4 weeks free Pet Plan Insurance is also offered at 1st vaccination. Click here for more details
