Vaccinations
*(They should not be allowed out of the garden till 7 days after 2nd vacc.) FeedingIt is very important that kittens are fed a good quality, balanced, complete diet 4 times a day. NeuteringAt Evolution we strongly recommend that your cat is speyed/castrated at 5 – 6 months of age. With male cats this will prevent spraying of urine in the house and the strong smell associated with entire tom cats. Speying a female cat will prevent unwanted pregnancy as they can have multiple litters of kittens every year if unneutered. Dental careAlthough cats will often not allow brushing it is important to check their teeth regularly. Feeding a good quality dried food will help to prevent gum disease, plaque build up and bad breath. WormngKittens should be wormed regularly:
We promote the use of Milbemax or Panacur which treats round and tapeworms. A spot-on treatment, Prodefender is also available as an alternative to oral medication. GroomingGrooming of long haired cats is particularly important to prevent matting and furballs. This should be started as a kitten to get them accustomed to being handled, and continued into adulthood. MicrochippingMicrochipping is a permanent way of identifying your pet which cannot be removed. All vets, police stations, dog homes and rescue centres will routinely scan stray animals and hopefully reunite them with their owners. Fleas & TicksFrontline Combo Spot On if used every month from 8 weeks of age will prevent infestations on your pet and in your home. InsuranceIt is always wise to consider pet insurance in case of future illness or accidents. We have an FSA recognised advisor who will gladly discuss your policy needs. 4 weeks free Pet Plan Insurance is also offered at 1st vaccination. Click here for more details |
